Heya ppl,
I have some great news to share. Remember the audition I gave for Indian craft room which I had posted recently about. Yayyy!!! I got selected.
Have been given the opportunity to work along side awesome artists as a new ICR designer at Indian craft room for 6 months!!!
During my BDS times this was the site I would go to get inspired by the wonderful work of others. I am elated to have started to work on projects!!! The challenges will run fortnightly. The first challenge which is named as Coasteride ICRCAUT01- Triangles+more than three.
More about this particular coasteride here and submission linky tool too :) here's the link
So here's my first DT inspiration project for Indian craft room.
The first coasteride is all about triangles. Basically the project should have 3 or more triangles. Here's what I came up with for the coasteride.
I made a 5*7 inch canvas.
A little about the process of making:
First I made by background which is made from quilled triangles of various sizes. I then gave them a layer of gesso which was left to dry. After it was dry used Viva decor Inka gold metallic pastes to colour in the triangles. I used a gradation of colours.
Used chipboard from Itsy Bitsy heat embossed them with different colours. The butterfly is heat embossed as well.
My focus point is the quote which reads- ' If you were a triangle, you would be acute one'. The cardstock is then coloured with distress inks- Fossiled amber and spiced marmalade.
Used doilies and flowers to match up the creations. As final touch I sprayed a layer of silver Lindy's stamp gang spray to add more shimmer.
That's all for my creation.
You can view the creations of my fellow DT's here!!!
Supplies used.
- 5*7inch canvas, 3mm quilling strips, gesso, Chipboards shapes, doilies, and pink flower from Itsy Bitsy.
- Lindy's stamp gang silver spray.
