Mixed Media Nameplaque-Ft.TCES

Heya Folks,

Made this nameplaque for a college staff of mine Dr. Shibani.

She was quite specific with what she wanted and gave me a sketch to follow.

The outcome is something that is quite simple but is sophisticated.

The MDF base is from The Element Craft Studio which has been given a base coat of gesso over which the texture paste and stencils from Itsy Bitsy were used. The wordings of the nameplaque and Ganesha are gold embossed (Sourced from The elements craft Studio). The roses add to the grandeur of the whole piece.

Do lemme kno your thoughts on it.

Monogram Mixed Media.

Heya folks,

Made this mixed media monogram for a kid who loves pinks and purples.

A lot of texture added by using various elements from @itsybitsycraftstore. Coloured a Prima doll and stacked a gold Heat embossed chipboard element to finish off the focal point. The texture is added with damask stencil and texture paste. In some areas gold embossing is also done on the base to accentuate the base texture. Archival inkpad is used to stamp some random accents to the monogram.

 What do u think??

MDF Kitchen Plaque.

Heya folks,

So here is a recent order that I completed.

A MDF kitchen chopping plaque with a quote.

The base coat is a mix of various hades of chalk paints from Itsy Bitsy. Gold foiling is done in the background with deco art foil.

The chipboard embellishments are again from Itsy bitsy.

The quote, bowl and the spoons are all embossed using embossing powders.

The whole price is the finished off with wood varnish.

Revamped bookshelf- Ft: Itsy Bitsy Chalk paints

Heya folks!!!

So here's what I was doing for the past 2 months on and off.

This was a boring shelf that has been in my house for the past 10 years and it has held a lot of items including the dental books that have shaped me to what I am today. Now that I have shifted to my new house, it was time for a well deserved facelift.

So here goes my mixed media shelf.

So once we shifted to my new house my mom was using this to keep kitchenware, as the wood work in the house was still going on. Once the wood work was done, the shelf was shifted to the balcony so that I could work on it.

Started with sanding of the surface, primed it with gesso, post which I used Itsy Bitsy chalk paints for the base colour. Once the base was dry it was time to add in textures through stone paste, metallic paint from itsy bitsy and modelling paste. To add in more depth used various stamps with Stazon black ink. Finally added handwritten craft quotes with black acrylic paint. The whole shelf is then sealed with wood varnish.

Do leave me ur comments.

Tree of life pendant- Ft.Dr.Karthik Cariappa

Heya folks,

This is a collaboration post.

Have collaborated with Dr. Karthik Cariappa who is a avid Pencil Sketching artist. He mainly likes to capture nature through his sketches.

A few of his works:

For the collab- Dr. Karthik sketched the Tree of life on a 1 inch circle which was then converted to a decoupage pendant. The only difficult part here was that I had to do trial and error method to find the best way to make the sketch waterproof and had to take care of not touch it, so as to avoid smudges. But was able to finally crack a formula for the same.

Here's the final result.

Hope you like it.
