Revamped bookshelf- Ft: Itsy Bitsy Chalk paints

Heya folks!!!

So here's what I was doing for the past 2 months on and off.

This was a boring shelf that has been in my house for the past 10 years and it has held a lot of items including the dental books that have shaped me to what I am today. Now that I have shifted to my new house, it was time for a well deserved facelift.

So here goes my mixed media shelf.

So once we shifted to my new house my mom was using this to keep kitchenware, as the wood work in the house was still going on. Once the wood work was done, the shelf was shifted to the balcony so that I could work on it.

Started with sanding of the surface, primed it with gesso, post which I used Itsy Bitsy chalk paints for the base colour. Once the base was dry it was time to add in textures through stone paste, metallic paint from itsy bitsy and modelling paste. To add in more depth used various stamps with Stazon black ink. Finally added handwritten craft quotes with black acrylic paint. The whole shelf is then sealed with wood varnish.

Do leave me ur comments.

Thanks for stopping by.

Lots of love,
Dr. Pratyusha
